Description
The popularity of vegan diets has led many people to eschew animal products for food and to also exclude them from their clothing. The time has come to create an alternative mattress that follows this trend in our society. The problem is that the same folks who adhere to the vegan lifestyle would also choose an organic mattress if there was one available that did not include any wool. Now there is and it is quite unique. Wool is the go to standard in organic mattresses because of its many benefits such as temperature regulation, breathability, and it’s ability to wick away perspiration, but the most compelling feature is that it allows mattresses to pass the federal burn test for mattresses without the use of chemical fire retardants. I am happy to tell you that there is a new product made from cellulose and corn fiber that can do the same thing as wool in regards to enabling a natural mattress to pass the burn test. We are using this fiber which is called EcoShield in the new Honeysuckle mattress.
The Honeysuckle has a hand tufted separate topper that contains a thick layer of organic cotton batting over two sheets of 4,000 micro coils each with another layer of organic cotton batting under them. The topper is backed with organic cotton canvas fabric. The padding inside the mattress is two inches of organic latex in your choice of soft, medium, firm or extra firm density. Under the latex you have our American made pocket coil spring system. The Honeysuckle bottom mattress has a zipper cover and can be made in dual firmness at no extra charge. It can be adjusted for firmness after you sleep on it. Due to the soft cotton batting this mattress has that elusive “not too hard and not too soft feel” that so many of us long for. The topper can be purchased separately from the mattress.
